See the garden in a different light…
Spring is now upon us, and where better to make the most of it than outdoors? The garden should be the most relaxing area of the home and with effective lighting it can be. Whether an intimate al fresco meal for two, or a lively family barbeque, there is lighting available to create any mood.
With many gardens now having decking, a central area can be created and really be brought to life with subtle lighting touches. Recessed LED’s offer a sophisticated, contemporary look, which are available in many different colours. LED lighting is offered in both low voltage and mains outputs. Low voltage versions will require a transformer system, however, there will be a limit to the number of fittings that can be connected to each transformer. The offer of long lamp life and low energy use adds to the LED appeal.
Why not try lighting a feature, transforming its appearance, and creating a focal point? This can be achieved simply and effectively by using outdoor spotlights, which are most effective with adjustable spot heads that will allow for the light to be angled. This will make creating the desired look much easier.
If contemporary is not the look that you are aiming for, another direction to explore could be the more traditional style posts, pedestals and wall lights. A matching combination of these can create a classy, practical effect that really works. By adding a ‘dusk ‘til dawn’ sensor, which allows automatic illumination once the natural light fades; it is possible to have lights on, even if there is no one home.
